ἐξαπατάω 1 aor. ἐξηπάτησα; pf. 3 pl. ἐξηπατήκασιν (Tat. 14, 1); aor. pass. inf. ἐξαπατηθῆναι (Just., D. 8, 3) (s. ἀπατάω; Hom. et al.) to cause someone to accept false ideas about someth., deceive, cheat, τινά someone (Jos., Ant. 10, 111) Ro 7:11; 2 Th 2:3; IEph 8:1. Of the serpent’s deception of Eve (cp.
